If everyone has this we can play over steam/ES Online, otherwise we can host over the VPN.

If you don't have it then Download Game Files (1.4 GB) (2.1 GB Extracted)

You will need a CD Key. If you don't have one, ask!

The game tries to use your LAN interface by default which will not work for games over VPN.

IF you already own the game skip to step 4

1. Start the game for the first time (age3.exe)
2. Enter the CD key
3. Get to the main menu then quit
4. Navigate to My Documents\My Games\Age of Empires 3\Startup
5. Create or edit user.cfg with the following content. Replace XXX with your VPN IP:

user.cfg

OverrideAddress="10.8.0.XXX"

Run age3.exe

In Multiplayer, LAN, direct connect to the IP of whoever is hosting.
